Working with hazardous chemicals is an occupational hazard for many professionals in the medical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research industries. Hazardous chemicals are also used every day in many types of manufacturing facilities to manufacture products and service assembly and packaging equipment.

A hazardous chemical is any substance that can harm humans, animals or the environment. The harmful effects of hazardous chemicals can be acute (happen suddenly), e.g. when the chemical is spilled onto unprotected skin, or it can become a chronic effect with continued use, e.g. B. Lung problems or cancer, which can result from long-term exposure to air pollution.
